American drivers carry a lot of stuff in their cars, from dirty soccer balls, to fragile flowers, to heavy-duty strollers. We need a cargo space that is versatile and can handle everything we throw at it. The all-new 2018 Ford EcoSport comes with a unique cargo feature that was inspired by honeybees.
2018 Ford EcoSport
The EcoSport Adjustable Cargo Shelf uses a honeycomb design to create a thin, lightweight shelf that can support nearly 700 pounds, despite weighing only six pounds itself. Additionally, the honeycomb inner structure is made using 100% recycled paper. This means eco-conscience drivers can still keep their impact small even while getting a great vehicle.
“The hexagonal design of honeycomb is a testament to nature’s ingenuity,” says Mike Mazzella, Ford EcoSport assistant chief engineer. “Not only is it strong, it’s superlight. Customers can slide the shelf into multiple different slots like an oven rack; even store it on the back of the seats. It helps make EcoSport super-flexible in everyday use.”

With the warmer weather rolling in, it may be time to clean your car. Here are a few spring car cleaning tips from us here at Nick Nicholas Ford Lincoln.
Many drivers struggle to keep their car clean during winter, which is why the upcoming warm weather makes for the perfect opportunity to tidy up! Get rid of trash and make sure there’s nothing blocking your view of the road. Here are a few spring car cleaning tips from us here at Nick Nicholas Ford Lincoln.
Compartments – There’s little doubt that trash has found its way into storage compartments throughout your car. Take a trash bag and set out on a mission to eliminate all fast food bags, wrappers, and receipts (that you don’t need) from the interior. Check the center console, cup holders, glove compartment, and any other convenient storage spaces.
Windows – Spotless windows can only enhance how good of a driver you are! Make sure you have maximum visibility this spring by cleaning all the windows, including the windshield, until they shine. Make sure to get both the inside and outside.
Wipers – Visibility is the key to driving safely, which is why ensuring you have an efficient set of wipers is a necessity on the road. Fortunately, wiper blades are one of the cheapest parts of a car to replace and they only take a few minutes to install. Check your owner’s manual for specific instructions for your make and model.
The exciting new Ford Mustang brings a long list of performance and styling changes that make it seem like a full redesign.
Ford’s idea of a midlife refresh blows every other automaker off the track with ease. The new Ford Mustang brings a long list of performance and styling changes that make it seem like a full redesign. Drivers can expect a streamlined interior, more aggressive exterior, and a changeup in what lies beneath the hood.
The 2018 Ford Mustang was officially revealed to the public at this year’s Chicago Auto Show. Styling changes include a refined front and rear, new grille, hood vents, and improved aerodynamics. Drivers can also add full LED lighting as well.
Unfortunately, 2018 brings the death of the entry-level V6 engine. Instead, the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine rounds out the range. While Ford hasn’t released any performance figures just yet, drivers can expect a new 10-speed automatic transmission as an available option for the 2018 model year.
Like the exterior, the Mustang’s interior sees plenty of upgrades as well. Premium materials make up most of the cabin. Convenience and safety features are more available as well. Drivers can add features like Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keep Assist to their Mustang, decreasing the chance of an accident on the road.
More than half of the human body is made up of water, which is why it is so important to keep hydrated. Unfortunately, sometimes we don’t always drink as much water as we should. Ever find yourself driving and desperately thirsty, with no water bottle in reach?
Thankfully, a clever engineer at Ford – Doug Martin – is seeking a solution to this problem, by converting air conditioning condensation into filtered, drinkable water. You vehicle is already wasting water; why not find a way to drink it?
Ford is calling it On-the-Go H20, and you can learn more about it in this YouTube video, which also shows a prototype of this system, which presents a compact tap in reach of the driver and passenger.
Martin’s aims are even greater than hooking up Ford passengers with a refreshing drink, however. He hopes that someday Ford On-the-Go H20 could help those dealing with water scarcity around the world.
On a small scale, it’s easy to see how this technology could be helpful in rural areas, and on a larger scale, it’s amazing to think how much impact this could have in regions abroad.
