Ford Makes Major Investment in Next-Generation Ford Focus

Keeping with its unofficial “Go Big or Go Home” motto, Ford is making a massive investment in the next-generation Focus. The compact car will be produced in Germany and the facility is getting some major upgrades in order to optimize production and handle the new model. Additionally, the factory will also go green with new energy-supply systems.

Next-Generation Ford Focus

What’s next for the Focus?

Ford is doubling down on its European market with a major investment in a production facility. The German facility will build the next-generation Ford Focus, a compact car that continues to sell well, thanks to its affordability and quality.

In an effort to prove that Germany truly is a major part of Ford, the automaker invested a massive $644 million in the production facility. The plant will receive new press systems that can process steel into car parts; the new presses will result in a lightweight design that offers increased fuel economy.

The major investment will also add new energy-supply systems that will reduce the facility’s emissions by up to 20%. Worth noting is that Ford’s German production facility currently employs around 25,000 people, so these new advancements are exciting for many.

“This €600 million investment reconfirms Ford’s continuing commitment to Germany, our main centre of operations in Europe,” said Jim Farley, president and CEO, Ford of Europe, Middle East, and Africa.

Ford Focus RS Details Include Features for Maximum Performance

The hot new 2016 Ford Focus RS is slowly making its way to American streets and it’s latest stop, the New York Auto Show, afforded up close and personal pictures of the turbo-charged speed-demon. Behind the bright lights of the auto show, The Manhattan Auto Club acts as a backstage area for media members to interact with manufacturer representatives to shed some light on the new models.

Ford Focus RS Details

The new 2016 Ford Focus RS details that Ford divulged not only included the 315 plus horsepower, Brembo front brakes, and AWD system, but also that this is the first Ford to have a drift mode. The Focus RS will have four selectable modes: normal, sport, track, and drift. The first three are somewhat straightforward, but once the driver chooses drift-mode, the Focus can be driven nearly sideways in a turn while the rear tires spin in dramatic fashion.

Among other features normally found on high-end sports cars, the RS is also equipped with a launch-control for maximum acceleration. Though pricing has not yet been announced, the hot-hatch will be available at Nick Nicholas Ford Lincoln sometime this fall. We can’t wait!

The Ford Focus Electric Keeps Getting More Affordable

The 2015 Ford Focus Electric will be receiving a $6,000 price cut, bringing the price down to $29,995. The battery-powered electric Focus is a compact five-door hatchback that yields an electric range between 80 and 85 miles, which makes it a pretty great value. Ford will also be lowering the prices of any left over 2014 Focus Electric models still at dealerships. Earlier this year, the brand already gave a $6,000 cash back refund for all Focus Electric models, ensuring both new and old electric Focus drivers receive the benefit.

Green Car Reports says “This isn’t the first time Ford has cut prices on the Focus Electric, either. The 2014 model was $4,000 less than its 2012 and 2013 predecessors, which were launched at $39,995.”That means that the latest Ford Focus Electric is a whopping $10,000 cheaper than the first model was. Talk about fighting inflation!

It isn’t often that a mass-produced vehicle decreases its price tag so significantly over the years. All we know is that the cut makes owning an all-electric Focus even more attainable for consumers looking to go green for less! 2014 Ford Focus Earns NHTSA’s Top Honors

2014-Ford-Focus

If there’s one thing that we here at Nick Nicholas Ford Lincoln value in our vehicles, it’s safety. That’s why we are particularly proud of the announcement that the 2014 Ford Focus—including the sedan, hatchback, and Electric models—has earned the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) coveted five-star overall vehicle safety rating in their New Car Assessment Program.

In order for a vehicle to achieve the top score in the NCAP, a vehicle must earn high marks in driver/passenger side frontal crash tests, front and rear seat side crash tests, and the rollover test. The Focus sedan and hatchback each scored a perfect five stars in the side crash test and four stars in rollover and frontal tests; the Focus Electric earned five stars in every aspect of testing. This marks the second year in a row that all three focus models have earned the NHTSA’s top honors.

The 2014 Focus benefits from Ford’s AdvanceTrac® electronic stability control and ABS (anti-lock brake system). A litany of other standard safety features, both passive and active, ensure that Focus drivers are well-protected behind the wheel.

If you value safety as much as we do, consider the 2014 Ford Focus for your next new car purchase. Still not convinced? Why not just stop on down to our showroom and test drive one for yourself? You’ll be glad you did!
